All children are welcome to attend our after-school club or session irrespective of whether they attend Calthwaite School.

We have a range of interesting activities for the children to involve themselves in, and they have full access to our garden.

We provide the children with a healthy snack, for example toast, fruit and vegetables and a drink, water, milk or juice.

Holiday Club
Holiday Club runs every school holiday, including half terms, but not public holidays.

The Club runs from 8:00am – 6:00pm and can be booked on a half/full or school day basis.

We provide breakfast, morning and afternoon snacks and the children have independent access to fresh water, however a packed lunch is required. Please label your lunch boxes and we will keep them in the fridge to keep them fresh. We also have a microwave if you would prefer to send your child with a hot lunch. Please let us know if your child has any special dietary needs.

We produce an itinerary of activities and outings available at each holiday club at least 2 months prior to the holiday period.

Activities often revolve around annual events such as:

  • Spring
  • Easter
  • Halloween
  • Christmas
  • Celebrations of different cultures

We also bring other people in to entertain our children and have had activities in the past such as River Dipping in the river Petteril, Football, Willow Weaving, cake and jewellery designing. We also organise outings, to visit places of interest such as Tullie House, Carlisle Cathedral and Bitts Park.

For more information on our planned activity please ask First Class Kids Staff.

If you would like to book your child into the holiday club, please ask for a booking form. Places are limited so bookings are taken on a first come first served basis.

Please could you send your child in sensible clothes. We ask your child to bring wellies and coats in winter and hats and suntan lotion in the summer.
